Hi! I’m Alex Boccon-Gibod, a cartographer, transportation planner, and urban designer. I’m currently designing maps and planning bus service at Jarrett Walker + Associates in Portland, Oregon. I’ve also designed transit maps at New York’s MTA (Metropolitan Transportation Authority) and at inat mapping and wayfinding, tested transit technology at the MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority), redesigned an urban density visualization tool at Sasaki Associates, and done research about urban design and transportation at MIT’s Department of Urban Studies and Planning.
I’m passionate about the intersection of transportation planning and policy, urban design, and visual communication. Through my work, I hope to make cities more walkable, bikeable, and transit accessible.
