Metro Atlanta, GA

The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) set out to reimagine its bus network in a 5-year process led by Jarrett Walker + Associates (JWA). To support the implementation of the new network approved by the MARTA board in 2025, JWA designed a new system map focused on highlighting service frequency and connections. The clearer style builds upon the more legible network structure designed to improve access to opportunities.

Role: I led the design process from developing a style that met the client’s needs to drawing the main map to suggesting visualization strategies and refining the two zoomed-in inset maps for Downtown and Decatur/Avondale.
