Head in the Ground

HG1.jpg

123 cm x 48 cm - Digital photography

I wanted this piece to serve as an introduction to my portfolio centered around the underground: the person, whose head is beneath the earth, is trying to see what is underground. I made this piece by posing as such with my head in a hole, using a hidden stick to support my legs, allowing me to have a normal but “flipped” posture with my arms at my sides. I hoped to incorporate humor to engage the viewer and make them question what is invisible and what lies beneath our feet.
